Sherrie Nickol is a New York photographer who captures moments in time - and in life - with characteristic warmth and energy.In recent years, she has been exploring the relationships between people and their environments which includes Crowdscapes and By the Water.
In the summer of 2017 Nickol began a long-term project about modern dance by becoming the photographer-in-residence for Springboard Danes Montreal. Her project with dancers expanded after the residency to become Portraits of Dancers. Face to Face is her ongoing series of portraits that examines the inner confidence of women of all ages.
Nickol studied photography at the University of Cincinnati and later at the International Center of Photography in New York City. In recent years, she has used her talents to work on projects about people for various commercial clients: Canon, The Wall Street Journal, Wal-Mart, Philips, GlaxoSmithKline, Sanofi, Bayer, Columbia University, JPMorgan Chase, Estee Lauder, YMCA and Opening Act.
Nickol’s photographs are in the permanent collection of the in Paris, and in numerous private collections in the United States. In 2018 she was a finalist in the Julia Margaret Cameron competition.
